There’s no mistrustfulness you’ll need a bailiff of some kind to apply your court judgment or order.
Enforcement is each about compelling compliance with the terms of the court’s decision. So, a judgment may say the judgment debtor must pay the quantum shown on the judgment. You might have allowed that the judgment debtor would do this automatically as the Court has made its decision, but in our experience whilst this does be, there still needs to be a system to Impel people to observe thousands of judgments made each time.
So, if you’re a newbie to this system, it can feel slightly illegal that you’re pushed to do further to get your plutocrat back. People frequently say this to us, and we understand that sentiment. What we do is to make the system of enforcement as simple and straightforward as possible with a friendly educated platoon to help you through the transfer process and get your judgment into the hands of people who want to help get you paid.
We suppose as you watch “Call the Bailiffs” you’ll see the determination of our High Court enforcement agents working under the authority of our High Court Enforcement Officer, Claire Sand brook. She group’s Enforcement division is support by our fantastic office team who support enforcement operations and insure the smooth handling of our results to our customer community.
That said we also have a responsibility to the people we’re administering against and again as you can see in the Television show, we meet all feathers of people, with their own story of how they ended up with a judgment against them. There are checks and balances in the enforcement to cover judgment debtors from any gets which would be considered illegal if it were to be put in front of a judge.
All our visits to peoples’ houses are recorded on body cam footage so that we’ve a simultaneous record of the action we’ve taken. We’ll when needed to do so put this before the Court so a judge can see the way we’ve taken and check this against the Regulations we’ve to follow.
In the show itself we’ve also followed a clear process for seeking the concurrence of all the contributors and to follow COVID protocols as needed by the Government.
A little bit of Shergroup history
Shergroup launched the first main transfer service for all its own guests and also for the Sheriffs nationally back in 1998. Raz and Sue who are featured in the Television show are part of the original platoon that started working with Claire Sandbrook to make this service across all 105 postcodes of England and Wales.
Moment we see Shergroup’s service as a mecca for judgments in the UK and further amiss. We attack everything – from judgments out of Scotland and Northern Ireland, and judgments from Europe and in fact from around the world. We turn all these judgments into enforceable instruments called Writs of Control and that’s what you can see us using on the Television show.
The Framework and Process
The frame for transferring a CCJ to Shergroup and also administering it’s set out in legislation so you can rest assured that we carry out our process in agreement with the law.
We arrange for the necessary instrument to be attained from the county court to confirm that your judgment is still outstanding, and this also confirms the outstanding quantum that can be transferred to the High Court.
Once we’ve this instrument returned back from the County Court – which can be as little as 3 days – but can stretch to 28 days for some devious courts, also apply to the High Court in London for a Writ of Control. This is addressed to Claire Sandbrook and commands her to apply payment by attending at the address for the judgment debtor which we add to the Writ.
